Piotr Roemer

The world of sound is my natural environment. Since a child I’m involved with music, first as a violin player, then as a music theorist and composer. Subsequent studies in electroacustic music have given me sensitivity to the quality of sound and helped me understand the technical side of it.
When selecting repertoire, I take under consideration not only the musical potential of tango, but more importantly, the way sounds can influence the motor imagination of the dancers. I trust mainly my own taste for music, assisted by the intuition of an artist and a performer. I arrange tandas as dramaturgically composed stories.
I prefere traditional tango, but I’m no afraid to experiment. In my opinion every good and thoughtfully designed idea can use a moment of irrational madness. I believe that the main goal of music is to make people involved emotionally.
